In the recycling industry, the reliability of machinery is a key factor in ensuring operational continuity and high performance. In this context, we recently performed a complete overhaul of two Rotary Power SMA 1340 cc radial piston engines, destined for use on shredder blade systems.
This was an in-depth extraordinary maintenance procedure aimed at restoring optimal operating conditions and extending the service life of the components, minimizing the risk of system downtime.
Details of the service
The overhaul included the replacement of the main components subject to wear:
•   Crankshaft, essential for power transmission
•   Cylinder block, the heart of the hydraulic system
•   Pistons, to ensure efficiency and consistent performance
•   Bearings, essential for reducing friction and wearing
•   Seals, completely replaced to ensure sealing and reliability over time

A fundamental aspect of the service was the exclusive use of genuine parts. This choice ensures full compatibility with the motor, the maintenance of manufacturing specifications, and consistent performance over time.
